YSEALI Laos-Vietnam Friendship Cup 2019
Lao Rugby, in partnership with ChildFund Pass It Back and YSEALI, have organised a tournament (YSEALI Laos-Vietnam Friendship Cup 2019) between recently graduated players from the Pass It Back programme in Laos and Vietnam.
The tag rugby tournament will be held the Laos capital of Vientiane on the 29th June 2019. According to a FB post from Lao Rugby, the “Players who recently graduated from ChildFund Pass It Back will be participating in a full schedule of rugby and life skills activities culminating in a tag rugby competition in Vientiane.”
What is the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI)?
According to the YSEALI Facebook page, the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative recognizes that over 65 percent of the population in Southeast Asia is under the age of 35, the White House launched YSEALI) to augment leadership development and networking in the 10 ASEAN countries; deepen engagement with young leaders across critical sectors; and strengthen people-to-people ties between the United States and young leaders across the region. The goal of YSEALI is “to expand and institutionalize extensive programmatic engagement throughout Southeast Asia aimed at empowering the next generation of leaders.”

In recent month Rugby World Cup 2019 has also anno9unce further support of funding to the programme and the official mascots of Japan RWC 2019 have also been unveiled as ambassadors.
Lao Rugby
The Lao Rugby Federation will also be hosting the 100 World Legends Rugby For Life Camp this July. The camp is set to take place from 16-20 July with a coaching team consisting of former international rugby players including Tamara Taylor, Grace Davitt, Todd Clever, David Corkery and Dan Scarbrough.
