According to tournament organisers, the Xiamen Typhoons Rugby Football Club, the application stage for interested teams is in the second round of invitations. The Xiamen Gulangyu Tens rugby tournament is a very popular rugby festival for rugby teams based in China and 2018 saw the 10th anniversary of the Xiamen Gulangyu Tens.
