Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025 Match Schedule – Japan Start With Ireland

World Rugby confirmed the Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025 match schedule which will have 16 teams competing over six weekends, and Japan Sakura XV open their account against Ireland on August 24, 2025, in Northampton.

The opening match of RWC 2025 will see hosts England face the USA at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on 22 August 2025 and the opening weekend will also see reigning champions New Zealand begin their title defence against Spain at York Community Stadium on Sunday, 24 August 2025.

Brazil, who became the first team from South America to qualify for a Women’s Rugby World Cup, will make their tournament debut against South Africa at Franklin’s Gardens in Northampton on Sunday, 24 August.

World Rugby says the schedule has been “organised over six weekends with the majority having afternoon kick-off times to boost fan and family attendance across England.”

• Teams will have a minimum of six rest days between pool matches to optimise player welfare and team performance.
• Six double-header fixtures will take place during the pool stage.
• Child prices are available at all matches including the opening and knockout matches and a vast majority of kick-off times in the afternoon.

Japan Sakura XV – Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025 Match Schedule

The Japanese are the only Asian representation at the Rugby World Cup 2025 in England and their match schedule in Pool C is:

• Japan vs Ireland – Sunday, August 24 – Frankin Gardens, Northampton
• Japan vs New Zealand – Sunday, August 31 – Sandy Park, Exeter
• Japan vs Spain – Sunday, September 7 – York Community Stadium.

Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025 Tickets

More than 60,000 tickets were acquired by fans for England’s opening match at Sunderland and the final matches at Twickenham.

• Tickets for all matches will go on sale in the Mastercard Priority Access Sale (first come, first served and only Mastercard payments will be accepted during this priority window.) from 11:00 GMT+1 22 October 2024 until 24 October 2024.
• A two-week ticket application phase for all fixtures will take place from 11:00 GMT on 5 November until 11:00 GMT on 19 November via the tournament website.
• Ballots will be used for any price categories which are oversubscribed.
