Women in Sports Empowered HK Touch Rugby

The Women in Sports Empowered HK (WISE HK) have organised a mother and daughter touch rugby event to take place this September.

What is the WISE Start With Sports?

The Women in Sports Empowered HK say on their Facebook event page “WISE Start with Sports is our flagship Mothers and Daughters Sports Day where we invite Hong Kong-based mothers and daughters to join us for some sporting fun. It’s a great way to foster stronger mothers and daughters bonds through sports.”

The “WISE Start With Sports” is also timed to coincide with the 2019 Rugby World Cup which starts on September 20th 2019 in Japan.

Interested mothers and daughters can register online. Ideally, girls aged between 5-16 are encouraged to attend.

The event will be lead by experienced touch rugby coaches and is open to all levels of experience.

In the past, the organisation have held similar sporting events including Football, American Flag Football, Cricket, Dodgeball, Field Hockey, Football, Handball, Netball, Self-defence, Tag Rugby and Ultimate Frisbee.

Who are Women in Sports Empowered HK?

WISE HK is a non-profit organisation founded in 2o17 who “champions sports for women and girls in Hong Kong. Through sports, we advance women’s and girls’ impact on their communities.” They go on to say that they “envision a city where sports participation is a daily part of life, as important as work, family and friends for our women and girls.”

In addition, WISE HK encourage women and girls to “participate in and stay playing sports by promoting the benefits of sports… and advance women’s and girl’s impact through sports.”
