UAE vs Germany Preview (November 2024)
UAE host Germany in the second of their first Autumn series on November 16 2024 at the Emirates Stadium, and know they face a tough test following the heavy loss at the hands of Zimbabwe.
Germany is ranked 32nd in the world and UAE has dropped to 50th following the 22-62 loss to Zimbabwe on November 5th 2024.
Zimbabwe had a strong side but it was the speed of their game and outside backs that proved to be lethal with Edward Sigauke just one of the backs who had an outstanding game The Sharks wing scored a hat-trick of tries when the UAE were chasing the game but there was plenty of time the home defence was cut open and especially on the fringes.
In the second half, the UAE pack had some dominance but it was too little too late – although it’s that form from the pack which will be needed against the Europeans this weekend. They will also need to improve their discipline as they had two yellow cards in the loss.
Germany played a combined UK Armed Forces side at Kingsholm Stadium and won 43-26 last weekend in preparation for the match.
They competed in the Rugby Europe Championship and they lost the Dutch, Georgia, and Spain but did beat Belgium this year. Their last actual test was a 45-0 defeat to the Netherlands in March.
Mark Kuhlmann has been Germany head coach since September 2020, and he has won 3 of 14 tests since being in the role.
Saturday’s game is due to kick off at 3:30 pm and entry is free for fans wanting to attend.
