The Atlas Foundation Singapore Pre-RWC 2023 Charity Dinner
The Atlas Foundation has announced another exciting-sounding RWC 2023 dinner, which is set to take place on 1st September at the Marina Bay Sands Ballroom with three former international rugby players confirmed as guest speakers.
Tanglin Rugby Club posted online “I am sure many of you are familiar with the work of the Atlas Foundation and specifically its Asian arm, funded by the Anita, Alex & Annabel Nicholson Memorial Fund. Atlas are heavily involved in lots of worthy projects throughout Asia with rugby at their core. After a long COVID-induced break, we are really excited to announce a major black-tie pre-RWC dinner.”
They added that there are corporate VIP Tables and sponsorship opportunities available upon request.
Guest Speakers – The Atlas Foundation Singapore Pre-RWC 2023 Charity Dinner
The three rugby internationals confirmed so far to speak at The Atlas Foundation Singapore Charity Dinner are;
- Simon Shaw (73 England & British & Irish Lions caps)
- Andrew Mehrtens (70 NZ caps)
- Adam Ashley-Cooper (121 Australia caps)
The three will share their thoughts and experiences having played in previous Rugby World Cups; with both Mehrten and Ashley-Cooper losing finalists at past events. The marketing poster suggests more names could be added to the roster for the event.
Funds raised will support The Atlas Foundation and the Anita, Alex & Annabel Nicholson Memorial Fund.
Anita, Alex and Annabel Nicholson tragically lost their lives in the Sri Lanka bombings on Easter Sunday 2019 and the Memorial Fund “has had enormous support in their memory and is being used to create a legacy to the optimistic and positive lives they led.” The fund aims to support projects through Asia which carry the ethos of rugby.
Some of the Asian-based projects The Atlas Foundation has partnered with include Kampuchea Balopp (Cambodia), Khelo Rugby – Future Hope (India)
