Swire Properties Touch Tournament 2020

The Swire Properties Touch Tournament 2020 has announced a potential date to go ahead this year on the 29th August at the King’s Park Sports Ground in Hong Kong.

UPDATE: It was announced in early August that the tournament would be postponed. The HKRU said, “In view of the latest situation of COVID-19 in Hong Kong, the Swire Properties Corporate Touch Tournament 2020, originally scheduled on 29 August 2020, will be postponed to a later date.”

The tournament is organised by the HK Touch Association and the annual tournament was held around the same time in 2019. Last year slots for 23 corporate Hong Kong-based corporations were available but 16 teams took part.

The actual tournament FB page says the “Swire Properties Touch Tournament brings people together for a full day of thrilling touch rugby.”

With all of the COVID-19 disruptions, this appears to be the first touch rugby competition we have seen with a potential date for 2020. In April 2020, the HK Touch Association announced: “The 2020 Summer Touch League (Elite & Open) were postponed.”

Swire Properties Touch Tournament 2019 results

In 2019, the Savills Hong Kong defended the Cup beating title sponsors Swire Properties in the final.

In addition, HK$50,000 was raised to Hong Kong Rugby Union Community Foundation, the official charity Swire Properties Corporate Touch Tournament 2019.
