SRU Announce Sidney Kumar As New General Manager
The Singapore Rugby Union (SRU) have announced the appointment of Sidney Kumar as the new General Manager for the Union – he started in his position on August 1st 2023.
On the SRU Facebook page, Kumar said of the news; “Representing my country in the sport that I love has always been my dream, and having accomplished that, I am honoured to be allowed to contribute in another way in leading the secretariat,”
In his position, he will help oversee the recently announced Singapore leg of HSBC SVNS (confirmed for two more years), international rugby competitions which include the Asian Games as well as rugby development initiatives and programmes. Singapore is also due to host the SEA Games in 2029.
The SRU said that the aim is to “bolster the growth of the game for both men and women domestically”
