SG Women’s Fast Fifteens Rugby 2020
Rugby is returning throughout the Asia region and with the Hong Kong rugby union seasons commencing in November 2020, a pre-season tournament called the SG Women’s Fast Fifteens Rugby will take place on the 31st October 2020 at Kings Park.
What is the SG Women’s Fast Fifteens Rugby
Seven women’s rugby teams will compete in two pools following two showcase matches featuring the Valley Fort under-12 and under-14 girls teams that kick off at 1 pm and 1:30 pm respectively.
Teams will play in the regular fifteen-aside format but games will only be two halves of fifteen minutes (with a two-minute half-time break) – hence the name, Fast Fifteens say the organisers. Unlimited substitutions will be allowed to allow coaches to ensure game time for all players.
The event is closed to spectators but will be live-streamed on the Valley RFC Facebook page from start to finish.
The Valley RFC website says “the tournament is a resurrected version of the Valley Fifteens tournament which operated in the late 1990s and into the early 2000s. Club founder Jamie Scott was a part of the organising committee 20 years ago and is excited about the event rolling around and featuring the women’s teams of Hong Kong.”
The Hong Kong men’s and women’s Premierships and leagues set to kick off on Saturday 7th of November 2020.
