Singapore will use the tournament to prepare and National Teams Head coach Suhaimi Amran said: “Tournaments like the SEA 7s provide us with valuable opportunities to compete and challenge ourselves as a team. What makes this year’s SEA 7s tournament even more significant is its role as a benchmark for the upcoming SEA Games next year in Thailand. This will serve as a platform for us to assess our capabilities and fine-tune our strategies in preparation for the games.”
Malaysia has been in camp and held training matches in preparation, while the Lao women recently took part in the HKFC 10s as part of the Hong Kong Sevens week. The Philippines has announced it will send its Rising Stars teams to compete at the SEA 7s 2024.
