SCC Rugby Looking To Tour Spain In 2024

SCC Rugby (Singapore Cricket Club) is looking to tour Spain in 2024 – the club usually embarks on an overseas tour and is hoping to bring with as many club junior members as possible.

The club said via its socials in December 2023, “We’re looking to work with corporate and individual sponsors to support more Junior Sports Members coming on Tour and experiencing this once-in-a-lifetime trip! SCC Rugby traditionally goes on tours regionally throughout the year but every 2 years, we go somewhere more unique like Argentina, USA and Japan.”

The tour is currently scheduled to head to Madrid, San Sebastian, Burgos, and Valladolid from 17-26 May 2024.

European Rugby Tournaments 2024

• The Amsterdam 7s usually attracts a global contingent of teams and the Amsterdam Rugby 7s 2024 runs from 1-2 June 2024 and features Men’s & Women’s 7s Elite, Women’s & Men’s 7s Social, Men’s 10s Elite and Men’s Social 10s categories. Kazakhstan are the women’s defending champions!
• The Algarve Sevens is another popular European destination for teams, including those from Asia. In 2024 (the 5th edition of the tournament), there are Men’s & Women’s Elite 7s, Women’s & Men’s Open 7s categories for the tournament running from 7-10 June 2024. Over the years Hong Kong China Rugby, Kazakhstan and China national 7s rugby teams have attended.
• The Lisbon Junior 7s 2024 has U14, U16 & U18 age groups with the tournament running from 10-11 February 2024.

Of course, on the international stage, the final SVNS round of 2024 is also played in Madrid this season (31 May-2 June 2024), with the Monaco Repechage Olympic 7s tournament (21-23 June 2024),  and the Paris Olympics 2024 Sevens Rugby ( 24-30 July 2024) the main showcase events in 2024.

We reached out to SCC to see if they would like to say more about the tour and their expectation but have not heard back. The club also hosts the annual SCC 7s which take place from 8-10 November 2024.
