SCC 7s 2023 – What You Need To Know

The popular SCC 7s is back in 2023 and runs from 3-5 November in Singapore, with the high-calibre sevens rugby teams from around the globe for the tournament confirmed.

This will be the 74th edition of the SCC 7s  tournament and applications for expressions of interest started in February 2023 but the final selection of teams includes representation from New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

The historic SCC Padang will once again host the rugby action at Asia’s oldest 7s tournament. The organisers said they will “look to host the best international club teams from around the world in this invitation-only tournament.”

At the 2022 event, there were three main tournaments:

• The SCC Rugby Academy tournament 
• The Schools’ and Colleges’ tournament
• The Main Invitational International SCC 7s

Invitational International SCC 7s 2023 – Confirmed Teams

The announced teams already feature talented rugby 7s clubs. The Hong Kong China Dragons (made up of national team players) have entered to prepare for the Olympic qualifiers which take place in Japan later in November 2023.

There are the usual heavy hitters from Daveta (Fiji), as well as the hosts and the Singapore Development teams, and a good mix of talent from Australia and NZ.

Two sides from Japan are also in the mix (Kurumi and Tamariva), while Malaysia is represented by KL Tigers.
