SANIX World Rugby Youth Tournament 2024
The Japanese-hosted Sanix World Rugby Youth Tournament 2024 has been confirmed to take place from April 28th – May 5th 2024 at the Global Arena (Fukuoka City). This will be the 25th edition of the tournament to take place.

At a press conference held on March 17th, 2024 some details for the annual international rugby youth tournament were announced – the focus of the tournament is high school youths and in the past, players have gone on to represent national teams at Rugby World Cups.
Former internationals to have played at the SANIX tournament are; Johnny Sexton (Ireland), Ben Gunter (Japan) and Amato Fakatava (Japan), Manie Libbok & Damian Willemse (South Africa), Finlay Christie (NZ), with the organisers indicting national team players from Australia, Uruguay, Fiji and Tonga have all played in the past.

Between 2020-2021, the SANIX Youth tournaments were cancelled due to the pandemic, and only domestic Japanese teams participated in the 2022 tournament.
The 2024 tournament also confirmed it would be working with social media influencer Ayaka Shinya as a tournament ambassador to try and broaden its audience.
For the fans, a premium lounge and rugby salon will be set up for spectators with a World Gourmet Fair offering food.
SANIX World Rugby Youth Tournament 2024 Teams
In addition to the 16 Boys and 8 Girls team tournaments playing in 2024, a ‘World XV Friendly Match” will be played with selected players from the participating teams selected to be involved before the Boys final on May 5th 2024.
The youth teams confirmed to compete in Japan come from a number of nations, including; Japan, Australia, Chinese Taipei, South Korea, England, Namibia, New Zealand, USA, and Fiji.
Some of the domestic Japanese participating teams are still to be determined based on the 103rd National High School Rugby Tournament, the 25th National High School Rugby Tournament, and a team recommended by the Kyushu Association for the boys. Japanese Girls’ teams seem to be based on nominations from local associations.

There will be 8 international and 8 Japanese High School teams playing the Boys division at the SANIX World Rugby Youth Tournament.

Eight Girls teams will be involved in 2024, four from overseas and four from Japan, with the competition days being April 28th and 29th.
