RWC 2019: Match officials and final ticket sale
The RWC 2019 (Rugby World Cup) have confirmed the match officials lineups for the tournament in Japan. In addition news of the match officials, tickets have been sent out and the final date set for the last chance to grab tickets to matches were announced.

We previously confirmed the officials for the Rugby World Cup 2019 and now the team of referees for each group game of the tournament has been confirmed by World Rugby.
The full list can be viewed here on the World Rugby website. The opening match between Japan and Russia will be overseen by an experienced team with Welshman, Nigel Owens, the referee. The officiating team for the opener on the 20th September is:
- Referee: Nigel Owens (Wales)
- Assistant 1: Nic Berry (Australia)
- Assistant 2: Matthew Carley (England)
- TMO: Ben Skeen (New Zealand)
In addition, according to World Rugby, South Africa’s Jaco Peyper will mark a major milestone when he takes charge of Japan versus Samoa at the City of Toyota Stadium on 5 October as it will be his 50th test appearance as a referee.

With just over 60 days to the World Cup, the first match tickets were sent to lucky fans around the world. According to a report on Kyodo News, äround 33&% of the 1.8 million tickets that the local organizing committee hope will be sold by the time the tournament kicks off on September 20th are destined for fans living overseas, and the shipping process will see packages delivered to more than 170 countries worldwide.”
Nearly 1.5 million tickets have already been sold and the final date for the sale allotment has also been announced to take place on August 10th 2019.
Fans buying tickets have the option to donate to ChildFund and the Pass It Back programme.
