RugbyDao And Oval3 Partner To Drive Immersive Fan Engagement

The RugbyDAO and OVAL3 have announced a partnership designed to drive rugby into a “new era of immersive fantasy gaming, innovation and progress.” The two companies plan to use immersive fan experiences and Web3 Gaming.

In an official statement of the partnership, they said, “The scaling of best-in-class fantasy products and experiences to a global rugby audience is a key lever to directly engage with fans.”

This collaboration will help build towards offering borderless rugby fan experiences and Nick Riggall, Co-founder of The RugbyDAO, said “We are excited to deploy our collective might to bring Web3 rugby to over 850m fans around the world. This partnership represents a significant step forward in our mission to build the first true Sports DAO and revolutionise fan experiences. Together with Oval3, we will drive innovation, empower fans, and support the future of rugby alongside those who have already made progress in growing the game.”

Who are The RugbyDao and Oval3?

The RugbyDAO are a decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO) who are committed to building a Web3 home for rugby through blockchain innovation. They have also previously signed agreements in 2023 with Pumpjack Dataworks (fan data monetisation) and with Animoca Brands for a strategic partnership to generate new opportunities in rugby and enhance the fan experience.

Among the RugbyDAO members are individuals connected to both Hong Kong China Rugby, the Philippines Rugby Football Union as well as others in the rugby community.

Oval3 is an immersive Web3 fantasy rugby game where by players can “Collect, play, and win official digital player cards, to use them in an immersive gaming experience around Rugby.” They currently cover three professional union leagues and their players – Top 14 and ProD2 in France and the MLR in the USA – which represents more than 40+ clubs and 2,000+ players.
