Rugby India women’s captain at 2019 Rugby World Cup launch
Rugby India women’s captain (Xv’s and sevens) Vahbiz Bharucha attened a RWC 2019 event in France. Bharucha also watched the six-nations clash between France vs Wales at Stade De France in Paris.
Bharucha herself is a star of Indian rugby, having captained the Indian ladies in the first ever international women’s rugby tournament hosted in India in 2018. She started playing rugby in March of 2009 and a decade later is leading the women’s game in India both formats of the game which is very impressive.
Her career has included being part of 15 Rugby India national and 13 international tournaments including The 16th Asian Games, Guangzhou, 2010 and the 35th National Games, Kerala, 2015. She first became the captain in 2013.
The rugby star is also currently training for the 36th National Games which take place in Goa in March 2019.
Bharucha was in the company of rugby stars such as Jonny Wilkinson and Thierry Dusautoir at the Paris events.
Rudby India’s leading lady was invited by Société Générale to attend the 2019 Rugby World Cup launch event. Societe Generale is a key sponsor of rugby in Hong Kong and India within Asia.
