Phuket International Rugby Tens 2021 (Cancelled)

The Phuket International Rugby 10s 2021 has confirmed its dates as 12-14 November 2021. There will be Ladies, Men’s, Vets and Over 45s categories at the Thai rugby tournament. (This has now been cancelled).
Like most social tournaments in Asia this year, the 2020 edition did not go ahead due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
UPDATE* September 2021
The venue also changed to the ACG ground (Allan Cooke Ground) for the 2021 tournament. Unfortunately, the Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas also decided to pull their sponsorship.
However, on September 23, 2021, the organisers decided to pull the plug on the tournament for 2021:
“Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the opening of the country and what restrictions that will entail its with profound sadness that we will again cancel the 2021 tens.
Without freedom of movement and entertainment venues to visit, it’s unconducive to hosting an event that that has been to so many as much about the hospitality, as to the rugby itself.”
They are hopeful of announcing dates for a 2022 tournament
Phuket International Rugby Tens 2021
The organisers of the rugby tens tournament in Thailand said online “Obviously after the disappointment of the postponement of the 2020 Tens we are looking forwards to bringing the Phuket International 10s back bigger and better in 2021.
Featuring Men’s & Women’s Open tournaments along with the Men’s Athena Siam Coffin Dodgers O35’s & the O 45’s Vets it promises to be an action-packed 3 days of Rugby.
Places in each division are limited so to make sure your team is entered fill out the registration form on the website.”

Phuket International Rugby Tens 2021 Categories
As is the tradition with the Phuket International Rugby Tens tournament, the Coffin Dodgers (over 35s) and One Foot in the Grave (Over 45s) divisions play their group games on the Friday and the Finals on Sunday.
The Men’s and Ladies Divisions play from Saturday-Sunday.
- 12th November 2021: Athena Siam O 35s & O 45s
- 13th November 2021: Men’s & Women’s Open
- 14th November 2021: Men’s & Women’s Knockouts & Finals. (The vet’s finals will also be played on Sunday).
The number of teams that can register is as follows:
- Mens’ Open: 16 Teams
- Ladies Open: 8 Teams
- Coffin Dodgers O35s Vets: 12 Teams
- One Foot in the Grave O45s Vets: 4 Teams

The tournament in 2021, will be the 22nd year the Phuket International Rugby Tens has been run.
Asia Center Foundation
The event also looks to help raise funds for the Asia Center Foundation (ACF).
The organisers said;“The ACF has continued to support the underprivileged kids in their care as well as helping with the added burden of trying to feed and clothe their families.
It has been a harrowing time for many around the world and here is an opportunity to make a difference again through rugby. We have a list of options below that Roelien from the ACF has provided. If you can help in any way it will make a huge difference.”
