Nepal Rugby Selects National U20 Rugby Boys & Girls Squads

Nepal Rugby Association (NRA) confirmed the wider training squads for both of their national U20 Rugby Boys & Girls teams as they prepare for the Asia Rugby U20 Championships 2023 which will be hosted in Kathmandu from 19-20 August.

The NRA said the selected players will be training in closed camps from 2nd July- 21st Aug 2023 with the selectors saying, “This camp will provide a conducive environment for intensive training, skill development, and strategic refinement under the guidance of experienced coaches and mentors.”

Nepal earned full membership with World Rugby earlier in 2023 after meeting the necessary governance criteria.

There is no confirmation yet of which other teams will be involved in the Asia Rugby Championships but the AR U18 Championships will also take place less than one month after the tournament in Nepal – hosted in Taiwan from 16-17 September 2023.

Nepal Rugby has also simultaneously posted coach job vacancies for the Nepal National U20 Boys and Girls Teams – which we thought was odd if the squads have been selected.  The job posting says the roles are for “U20 National Team Coach and Assitant coaches” and are volunteer posts.
