Nepal, after seeing its men’s XVs team make its international debut in 2022, is launching its new 15s national club Rugby Union League this weekend with the first round of matches taking place on 12th February 2023 at Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu.
Which teams are playing in the Nepal 15s Rugby League?
In total, four Nepalese rugby clubs will be involved in the short-running league, which is a round-robin format running from 12-18 February and includes three matchdays.
The championship will feature four clubs:
- Himalayan Tiger RC
- Gorkhali RC
- Aakash Bhairabh
- Tribhuwan Army Rugby Club

The Nepal Rugby Association is also currently hiring a new national team coach who will be responsible for all national rugby teams and “support the Nepal Rugby Association’s Rugby operations, coaches, and managers to develop and implement a rugby development plan and playing model for all age groups.”
Nepal also hosted the Asia Rugby U18 Championship in late 2022 in which their U18 Boys and Girls Teams took part.
