The Japanese players are very excited. In the future, we would like to expand the number of participating teams in the tournament to create more opportunities for overseas players to excel.”
On the importance of women’s rugby especially in a Rugby World Cup year, the CEO added, “In 2025, there will be many women’s rugby events, such as the World Cup, the HSBC SVNS Series, and the domestic Taiyo Seimei Cup. Currently, I think that women’s rugby is still not well known in Japan.
