The HKRFU women’s KPMG Grand Championship semifinals drew an unexpected result as Borrelli Walsh USRC Tigers beat Gai Wu Falcons, while Societe Generale Valley also defeated Kerry Hotel Kowloon to set up an exciting Grand Final next weekend in Hong Kong.

Gai Wu Falcons would have been favorites going into their semi-final, after beating Societe Generale Valley last week and claiming runner up spot on the overall standings, however, they came unstuck against a Borrelli Walsh USRC Tigers side who beat them 25-12. The surprise result means for the 1st time since 2015 the Grand Final does not feature Gai Wu vs Valley. It was also Tigers 1st win over Gai Wu Falcons in three attempts over the course of the past month.
Societe Generale Valley beat Kerry Hotel Kowloon 31-0 in a more comfortable victory and will be heavy favorites to claim the 2019 KPMG Grand Championship on Saturday, March 9th.

KPMG Premiership A
Natixis HKFC Ice had a comfortable 46-0 win over Plastic Free Seas City Sparkle while Transact 24 Tai Po Dragons also caused an upset to beat SCAA First Pacific Causeway Bay 19-15 in the other semifinal.
HKFC are the favorites for the Prem A clash on Saturday, March 9th against Tai Po as the semifinal win was their 7th victory in a row in 2019.
