Kowloon RugbyFest 2025 Teams and Pools – Probably the Best Social Rugby Tournament in the World

Kowloon RugbyFest 2025 returns with another exciting lineup of teams descending on Kings Park on 27 March 2025 for a day of social rugby – we look at the teams and pools confirmed for the 20th edition of the tournament which first got underway in 2001!
The annual tens social tournament will feature 10 Men’s teams and 6 women’s teams as well as 5 Men’s Veterans (Over 40s) playing in a round-robin format. RugbyFest has attracted teams from around the world, and in 2025 we can see sides entered from the UK, Hong Kong, Laos, the Philipines, China, and a number of touring teams representing many nationalities.
RugbyFest is played at King’s Park and is scheduled to be played across all 3 artificial turf pitches.
There will also be an outreach programme With Love 21 Foundation at 15.15-16.00. Since 2019, Kowloon Rugby has partnered with Kowloon-based charity Love 21 to provide regular sports sessions to its membership. Love21 is dedicated to empowering members within Hong Kong’s Down Syndrome and Autistic community in addition to supporting their families and carers.
Clive Hammond, one of the tournament organisers, told Rugby Asia 247: “With only a few days until the 20th DHL Kowloon RugbyFest 2025, teams will be starting their journey across the globe to join the best week of rugby on the planet. So get down to Kings Park this Thursday and join the fun.”

The Maharlikans represent Filipino players from around the world (see more in our interview here), and the matchup against the Laos Nagas will be a highlight for those following rugby in Southeast Asia – players from both sides could be featured in the SEA Games Rugby 7s which will be held in Thailand at the end of 2025.
Since 2011, Kowloon Rugby Club has been supporting the development of rugby in Laos.

Pass it Back is an ensemble cast of global players who represent the official charitable partner of World Rugby (ChildFund Rugby). Pass It Back has its roots in Laos and is now offered globally and empowers players, with a focus on female participation and youth development.

Kowloon RugbyFest 2025 Meet and Greet
The tournament’s Meet and Greet will be taking place the night before the tens is played and will be hosted at The White Stag, with former England 7s star Dan Norton as the special guest.
Hammond added, “The “kick- off” the event a “Meet and Greet” at THE WHITE STAG in Wan Chai on Wednesday evening from 6pm to 8pm and all draught beer is *HKD30 (*except Guinness at HKD35). See you there at the best social tournament in the world……..Probably!!!”
