Korea Touch Association Rugby ETR 2020
The Korea Touch Association’s ETR (Everybody’s Touch Rugby) project for 2020 has revealed a total of 12 teams which will feature in touch sessions and tournaments this year.
Who are the KTA (Korea Touch Association)?
The Korea Touch Association, which was founded in 2006, is the main group that looks to promote touch rugby in South Korea.
They use several initiatives to grow and develop the sport:
- Project ETR: A group that organises weekly touch rugby training sessions and friendly competitions. This group is run by Ji Ong Kim, Hugh Hong & April Jang who facilitate training for those wanting to learn more about touch rugby. There isn’t a so-called ‘league’ but the session always ends in a friendly game where members are placed into teams and play games to improve their skill.
- Touch Rugby Tournaments: Korea Touch organises events each month, whether it’s an official tournament or a mini tournament. An official tournament comprises multiple teams who compete to win. The mini-tournament allows players from all teams to be randomly placed into teams in order to get to know one another and learn from players they wouldn’t have played with.
- Education: Korea Touch Association is sometimes asked to share knowledge of touch rugby to children/kids in Seoul. Touch members such as Dain Leathem and Sam McDonald have shared their expertise to inspire young kids to embrace the sport.

The KTA works along with ETR (Everybody’s touch rugby) to help promote touch rugby in South Korea. They say they “welcome players of any age, gender, and experience!”
On the KTA FB page, they recently announced that they “have a total of 12 teams that will feature throughout this year’s (Everybody’s touch rugby) ‘tournaments’. If you’re interested in playing or learning touch rugby, then hit us up and we’ll sort you out!”
