KL Saracens, a rugby club in Malaysia, have announced the KL Saracens 10s Junior Rugby Carnival 2020 will take place on 29th February.
UPDATE: On January 30th, 2020, KL Saracens announced the tournament had been postponed:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances and unavoidable reasons, we regret to inform you that this tournament scheduled for 29 Feb 2020 has been postponed. We will inform you as soon as we have a confirmed new date. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Thank you and take care.”
What is the KL Saracens 10s Junior Rugby Carnival?
Via the clubs FB page, the organisers have said the junior rugby tournament will feature contact rugby and touch rugby.
In our KL Saracens Rugby Club Spotlight, they told us the KLS 10s “is one of the biggest junior tournaments in Asia. In addition, it’s the biggest junior tournament in Malaysia and also in South East Asia.”

The KL Tigers International Rugby 10s takes place the weekend after the KL Saracens 10s, on the 7-8th March and also includes a juniors section. The Bangkok International 10s will be on the same weekend as the KL Saracens 10s Junior Rugby Carnival and has a huge junior rugby section.
Who are the KL Saracens?
The Kuala Lumpur (KL) Saracens was founded in 2003 with the “sole aim to promote and develop a high standard of youth rugby for everyone in our community, locals and expatriates alike” in Malaysia. As recently as 2018, their numbers included more than 500 members with a vast majority being Malaysian.
The ages of the rugby members range from 5 to 50 years old and the club fields junior age groups and a seniors rugby side.

English club Saracens have a number of partner rugby clubs around the globe. The KL Saracens joined the Saracens network a few years ago which has continued to expand around the globe.
