The Jakarta International Rugby 10s have confirmed the dates for next years competition as 18th April 2020. The social rugby tournament will be played at the GBK Rugby Field Jakarta.
Update: Date moved due to coronavirus
The organisers announced on March 4th that the rugby tournament has been postponed.
“Dear Jakarta 10’s 2020 Teams & Rugby Friends. It is with the heaviest of hearts that we advised we will be formally postponing the Jakarta Rugby 10’s Tournament 2020. Instead of cancelling the event, however, our Committee has decided to postpone the Jakarta Rugby 10’s Tournament 2020 to September 2020 (firm date will be advised).”
2019 Jakarta International Rugby 10s
The 2019 tournament was also held in April and included men’s tens, ladies 7s, Vets tens and a junior 10s section. The two-day social tournament is a regular on the Asian social rugby circuit and sees teams from across the region and further afield attend.
2020 Jakarta International Rugby 10s
The Jakarta Komodos Rugby Club, who organises the social rugby tournament, released this teaser video on their FB page. 2020 will be the clubs 50th anniversary year. It appears as if the same divisions will feature:
- Men’s Open 10s
- Women’s Open 7s
- Veterans Men’s 10s (Over 35)
- Junior Tens
The club is also one of the Asian rugby teams who lost members in the Bali Bombings in 2002.
