International women’s rugby: Wallaroos to take on Japan

With the global game of rugby growing, it’s great to see the women’s game making headway in Asia too with the announcement that the Australian Wallaroos team will play a two-match series versus the Japan women’s rugby team in Australia in 2019.

Rugby Australia confirmed the series this week, and the games are scheduled to take place in July in NSW (New South Wales). The Wallaroos team will use the series as they build yo to playing the NZ women’s team in August.

This will be the first time Japan and Australia will play each other outside of a Rugby World Cup, which seems remarkable.
