The Interscholastic Association of SEA Schools (IASAS) Rugby and Touch Championships 2020 has kicked off in Singapore today, with the three-day tournament finals being played on Saturday 1st February 2020.
What is IASAS tournament?
The Interscholastic Association of SEA Schools touch and rugby championships features 6 schools. The tournament has been held since 1998 and the boys play tens contact rugby while the girls play touch rugby.
The Singapore American School are the hosts of the 2020 championships. Their High School Principal, Mr. Stephen Ly, said of hosting the event “At Singapore American School, we are grateful for this opportunity to host not only IASAS Rugby/Touch but also to host IASAS Tennis (Girls)…… One of my hopes for this event is that the competition we will witness will inspire and spur each of us to greater personal heights.”
Who is playing the IASAS Rugby and Touch Championships 2020?
The six schools involved at the IASAS Rugby and Touch Championships 2020 are:
- Taipei American School (TAS)
- International School Manila (ISM)
- International School Kuala Lumpur (ISKL)
- International School Bangkok (ISB)
- Singapore American School (SAS)
- Jakarta International School (JIS)
ISKL (International School Kuala Lumpur) are the defending champions for the boy’s tens rugby and girls touch rugby from 2019.
