HSBC World Sevens Vancouver 2021 Teams & Pools
Details for the HSBC World Sevens Vancouver 2021 teams & pools in Vancouver, which runs from 18-19 September 2021, have been confirmed. There will be 12-teams involved in the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series men’s event, while four women’s teams are confirmed in the Fast Four tournament.
Earlier in September 2021, World Rugby had confirmed a number of changes to the 2021 and 2022 World Sevens Series. The event at BC Place in Vancouver sees core Series teams, as well as some invitational teams play, as not all nations can attend due to the global travel restrictions. Most notably for the men, NZ. Fiji and Australia are absent.
Vancouver Men’s HSBC World Sevens 2021
The men’s competition will see 12 teams divided into three pools of four teams. The format will be the same as that employed at the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020. Hong Kong is an invitational team and the only Asian representation in Canada.

Vancouver Women’s Fast Four World Sevens 2021
The Fast Four women’s tournament includes Canada, Great Britain, the USA and Mexico. There was a late withdrawal of the team from France due to COVID-19 travel issues.
All teams play each other before the top two play for gold, while the other two teams play for third place.

Edmonton Men’s HSBC World Sevens 2021
A second HSBC Canada Sevens event will follow in Edmonton from 25-26 September 2021, most likely with the same teams involved.
The two rounds in Canada form the 2021 Series, with the Series title awarded in Edmonton.
