HKRU Women & Girls Conference 2021
The HKRU Women & Girls conference 2021 has been confirmed to get underway on 3rd September and will run until 15th September 2021. The conference will include a series of seminars and will be held online.
Hong Kong Rugby Union said the conference aims to “inspire and engage our rugby community” and topics will include brand building, leadership, developing the sport, and commercialising rugby.
HKRU Women & Girls Conference Seminars
In total four community seminars have been announced and are presented by an eclectic and experienced group of speakers.
- Supporting Your Child through Their Sports Journey – Friday 3rd September 2021
- How to Market and Grow Women’s Rugby in Asia – Wednesday 8th September 2021
- A Conversation with the Players – Friday 10th September 2021
- Commercialising the Women’s Game – Wednesday 15th September 2021
Some of the highlights we identified are Florence “Flo” Williams presenting on the 8th September and discussing:
- How to market & productise the women’s game
- Demonstrating the unique value in the women’s game
- How to gain commercial interest
- Sponsorship packages
- Alignment of women’s & men’s clubs
- Use of women’s vs ladies team names
On the 10th of September, the session will include three leading women’s players in rugby as Black Ferns Sevens player and Olympic gold medalist, Tyla Nathan-Wong, Hong Kong Women’s 7s players, Chloe Chan and Academy player Hayley Lai, discuss their rugby journeys.
