The second round of the Emirates Dubai Invitational 7s (EI7s) 2021 takes place this weekend from 8-9 April 2021. The Canadian Women and Argentinean Men looking to make it two tournament wins in a row after last weekends success. The Japanese women and men are involved again.
The consecutive weekends of rugby are part of World Rugby’s ‘Road to Tokyo’ Sevens Rugby events to help teams prepare for the final qualifying tournament in Monaco and the Olympic Games in 2021.

The two sevens rugby tournaments were initially not going to be streamed, but just before the first sevens tournament started – a free albeit limited stream was announced.

EI7s 2021 Tournament 1 Results
The Argentina Men & Canada Women won the first EI7s 7s rugby tournament. The MVPs of the sevens rugby tournament were Matías Osadczuk (Argetina) & Nia Toliver (Canada).
Japan Men Sevens Results
The JRFU said of their two national teams after the first tournament: “We’re proud of what our teams accomplished at their first international tournament since February 2020!”
The Men’s team came 4th overall in the first tournament.
