DHL Express-ChildFund partnership announced
DHL Express and ChildFund have announced they are partnering to expose the ChildFund Pass It Back rugby program to more youths in Asia.
In our recent interview with Chris Mastaglio, the ChildFund Pass It Back Regional Director, we heard about the ambitions of the Rugby World Cup partner program. Pass It Back aims to give children in the Asian region an opportunity to learn valuable life skills through rugby.
In a statement on the partnership, they said “The DHL Express-ChildFund partnership will support the implementation of a rugby for development program focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals ahead of Rugby World Cup 2019, with the first of a series of ChildFund Pass It Back Cup Delivered by DHL events to be held on 25-30 March.”
In addition, Taketo Yamakawa, President and Representative Director, DHL Express Japan said:
“We are honoured to support the ChildFund Pass It Back program, one of the legacy programs for Rugby World Cup 2019.
Through this partnership, we are very happy to contribute to children’s growth in Japan and Asia. It gives us an opportunity to drive social change, and support youth involvement in a program that enhances their personal development while enjoying rugby.”

ChildFund Pass It Back Cup 2019
A group of young players and coaches are bound for Japan from Vietnam to take part in the inaugural ChildFund Pass It Back Cup Delivered by DHL this week (25-30th March 2019). The tournament is made possible through DHL Express, Asia Rugby and Japan Rugby Football Union.
Hosted in Japan, these ChildFund Pass It Back Cups will give youths from Japan, Laos and Vietnam the chance to participate in a series of rugby and life skills learning activities.
These life skills relate to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The focus will be on:
- Gender equality.
- Ending violence.
- Addressing inequality.
