The COBRA Girls Touch Tournament 2024 will take place on Saturday, 14 December, at Padang Astaka, Petaling Jaya, and is organised by COBRA and sanctioned by the Touch Association Selangor.
The organisers said that “this landmark event promises to showcase the talent and teamwork of young female athletes across the country.” They added that it will underscore COBRA’s commitment to promoting girls’ participation in sports, building a stronger sense of community, and empowering youth through healthy competition.
There will be 32 teams with 480 players involved across four age categories in 2024: Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, and Under 16.
COBRA spokesperson said: “The COBRA Girls Touch Tournament is a celebration of teamwork, sportsmanship, and the growing popularity of touch rugby in Malaysia. This isn’t just about competition—it’s about giving young girls the opportunity to shine, connect, and grow through sports. Touch rugby is rapidly expanding, not only among clubs but also in schools, and we’re proud to provide a platform for young girls to gain exposure and grow as athletes.”
