COBRA 10s 2024 – Teams & Pools
The COBRA 10s in 2024 is taking place from 2-3 November 2024 at Padang Astaka in Malaysia. This is the 51st edition of the tournament, and the COBRA 10s is famously known as the birthplace of 10s rugby.
The organisers previously had said, “Recognised by World Rugby, the popularity of COBRA’s invention has spread worldwide with the 10 a-side format the core of, just to name a few, the Hong Kong 10s, Brisbane Global 10s, Cape Town 10s, Bangkok 10s and Stockholm 10s.”
There are four pools in 2024 with 14 teams listed from Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, PNG, the UK, South Africa, and Samoa.
COBRA Rugby Club have been running the tens for the past five decades, and of note, they have announced they will be offering girls aged 10-16 rugby sessions from January 2025. They are also holding the COBRA Mini 10s on the 9th of November 2024 for youths aged 6-16.

The Penguins said online that Graeme and Doug are making their first appearances at the COBRA Tens, while the other 3 members of management have a combined total of over 40 COBRA tens between them.
The usually experienced Penguin touring team is handing out new caps to the entire squad except one player – James Fiebig.
Penguin Academy coaches Will Helu and Nick McCamley have been running sessions with age-grade teams in Kuala Lumpur in the buildup to the tournament this weekend.
