CHUBB TRC Junior Cup 2019

The Tanglin Rugby Club (TRC) in Singapore, hosts the first of two of its junior rugby tournaments, the CHUBB TRC Junior Cup 2019, this weekend from the 11-12th May 2019. The CHUBB TRC Junior Cup 2019 is open to Under 5 – Under 10 age groups with the under 5’s enjoying their own mini rugby festival.

Lee Harle, TRC Club President says of the junior rugby tournaments:

“The TRC Cup tournaments are a great testament to Tanglin Rugby Club’s commitment to developing rugby in Singapore, and we’re delighted to organise and host such an event which has the whole community at its core, bringing together players, families, and supporters from around the region.”

The club also hosts a second tournament which is in September that features 15s rugby from Under 11 to Under 17’s.

U6s – U10s TRC Cup Junior Tournament 2019

• Dates: Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May

The tournament for the under 6 – under 10s is expected to run between 8:00 am – 2:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

U5s Rugby Festival 2019

• Dates: Saturday 11th May (Morning)

This is a first-time the U5s Rugby Festival is being held with skills stations set up and run by a coach from each of the Singapore clubs. There will be a focus on rugby skills such as: teamwork, tagging and running the ball.

The coaches will split the kids into small groups which will be mixed so “each player has the best opportunity to make new friends from other clubs.” Each player will receive a TRC Rugby Festival Participation medal.

• ‪U9’s 11-1pm‬
• ‪U10’s 10-12.30pm‬

Tanglin Rugby Club, as well as other rugby and sporting clubs in Singapore have recently been in a fight to save the Turf City grounds from urban development.
