Bangladesh Claim Victory Over Nepal in International Rugby Series
The Bangladesh Rugby Federation Union and Nepal Rugby Association completed their 2022 “International Rugby Series” with the hosts claiming the spoils in Dhaka with victories in the sevens and XVs rugby matches.

The matches took place in Dhaka from 21-22 June 2022 and were the first international matches by the two unions, played at the Armed Forces Stadium. The matches were part of the inauguration of Bangabandhu Bangladesh Nepal International Rugby Series – although it was not made clear if this would be an annual event, or if women’s rugby would be included in the future.

In the two sevens rugby matches, Bangladesh claimed victories in both games, winning 19-0 & 20-0 against Nepal. The following day, the XVs match was played which saw the hosts win again, with a scoreline of 31-7.

The President of Asia Rugby, Qais Al Dhalai, was on hand to present the trophies during his visit to Bangladesh. He also visited the headquarters of the Bangladesh Olympic Committee in Dhaka, and met the Secretary-General Syed Shahid and the Secretary-General of the Nepal Olympic Committee Neelendra Raj.
