Bangkok International Rugby Sevens 2020
The Bangkok International Rugby Sevens has yet to confirm a date for 2020 and the organisers have today posted an update on their Facebook page. The next tournament should be the 25th edition of the sevens rugby event in Thailand.
The message from Bangkok International Rugby Sevens Tournament Director, David Adamson, said:
“I have had a few enquiries and registrations for the 2020 Bangkok International Rugby Sevens Tournament and want to keep you all up to date.
We won’t be making a definite decision about the 25th Bangkok International Rugby Sevens Tournament until at least the end of May 2020. There are too many uncertainties surrounding travel and border access for us to make an informed decision.”
The sevens rugby tournament is usually held around November time. In 2019, the Bangkok International Rugby Sevens hosted international men’s and women’s pools, social men’s, U18 Boys, U16 Boys and Girls.
Adamson added regarding the tournaments uncertainty for 2020: “All we know is that the world is going through a massive change and who will know what it will be like when we emerge out the other side. We do know that Rugby has taught us all to deal with challenges and adversity and we have come through better, wiser & stronger and this gives us the strength to face the challenge in front of us.”
The SCC (Singapore Cricket Club) Rugby Sevens 2020 dates have been confirmed to take place from 31st October & 1st November 2020, while the Cambodia Tens is due to be held from October 24-25 in Cambodia.
