Bangkok International Rugby Sevens 2019: Teams

The Bangkok International Rugby Sevens have announced the various 7s rugby men and women’s teams who will be competing in Bangkok over the weekend of 9-10 November 2019.

We previously announced some details for the 7s rugby tournament back in June.

Men’s international division

A number of national development teams from Asia will be involved including Lao, Malaysia and Thailand. The champions from 2018, the Pacific Warriors return to defend their title. There are also club teams from Spain, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, and England.

Women’s international division

Most of the teams in the women’s international division are also now confirmed. There are national development team representatives from Laos and Malaysia as well as club teams from Thailand, Japan, Vietnam and Kazakhstan. The Almaty women’s team won the tournament in 2018.

2018 Bangkok International Rugby Sevens winners

Last year the winners of the Bangkok international 7s were:

• Men’s Cup Final: Pacific Warriors 24-7 Confrerie Occitan
• Women’s Cup Final: Asiasport Almaty 10-7 Athletic College
• Men’s Social: Old Bangkok Bangers won the pool
• Under 18s: Vajiravudh (U18) 15-14 Bangkok Lions (U18)
• Under 16s: Integomb Select C 45-0 Canterbury Junior

Tournament details

• Date: Saturday 9th November- Sunday 10th November 2019
• Venue: Patana International School, Bangkok, Thailand
• Type: Rugby 7s: women’s and men’s, elite, social, U18, U16

The Bangkok 7s is the same weekend as the Cobra 10s and  SCC 7s this year.
