There are several high-profile but sociable rugby dinners and lunches taking place in November 2024 in Hong Kong and Singapore with special guests and raising funds for charitable partners.

Kowloon Cares RugbyFest 2024 Dinner
The Kowloon Cares RugbyFest 2024 dinner will again offer a social evening in Hong Kong and raise funds for the tournament’s charitable partners.
Former Wales international Andy Powell is a guest speaker.

Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens Long Lunch 2024
The Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens Long Lunch is being held in collaboration with Charity Partner Laureus Sport For Good on Friday 8th November 2024 at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.
Laureus Sport for Good became the first-ever official charity partner of the Sevens in 2018 and since then HK $3 million has been raised and donated by HKCR up until the 2024 tournament.
The Long Lunch is being held the day before the HKCR Men’s XV plays Brazil in the Autumn internationals and the event will be hosted by South African Dan Nicholl who will be joined by guest speakers Michael Hooper (former Wallaby captain) and Rikki Swannell (broadcaster and rugby commentator as well as ChildFund Rugby ambassador) as well as comedian Andrew Maxwell.
HKCR said of the event, “Join us for a packed afternoon of fantastic food, phenomenal prizes and great yarns – all washed down with free-flow drinks. Proceeds will go to Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, the official charity partner of the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens.”

SCC 7s 2024 Long Lunch
A SCC 7s Long Lunch is planned for Friday 8th November in Singapore at the Padang Restaurant and will feature special guests former British & Irish Lions John Bentley and former Wallaby David Lyons.

Dubai 7s Long Lunch 2024
The Dubai 7s Long Lunch was already held in September as part of the Dubai 7s for Good programme and the event raised AED 580,00 (approximately USD $160,000).
The organisers said the funds will “go towards building community infrastructure at North Road Primary School, Uganda, where we have been working to improve the facilities for the last 3 years, using sport and rugby as a vehicle for change.”
The special guests were former Wallaby Matt Giteau, and former England RWC winner Will Greenwood, who conducted a Q&A about their careers in international rugby.
