The Asia Rugby U20 Championship 2023 take place at Dasarath Rangasala Stadium, Katmandu, Nepal from 19-20 August and will feature 11 women’s and men’s teams from seven Asian nations.

Several Rugby Unions have announced team training camps and even selections.
Rugby India has held a U20 Boys Camp at KIIT in Bhubaneswar, Odisha to prepare. India Men’s U20 Coach Juandre Naude said “The boys have been great since the first day of camp and improving every single day. Compared to last year (2022) I have seen the understanding of our structures have improved.”
Nepal has already announced their boys’ and girls’ preliminary teams as have been training over the recent months.
The HKCR make a return in 2023 – the Men recently competed at the World Rugby U20 Trophy in Kenya and were the champions in 2019.
However, the defending champions from 2022, UAE, won’t be competing in either the men’s or women’s competition, Asia Rugby confirmed.

Asia Rugby U20 Championship 2023 – Match Officials
Asia Rugby confirmed the appointed match officials for the Asia Rugby U20 Championship 2023.

Greg Hinton from Mongolia has been appointed as the Performance Reviewer, while Gabriel Lee (HKCR) and Sourojit Ghosh (Rugby India) will serve as the Coaches of Match Officials.
In addition, the following have been appointed:
- Shahid Sangani – Judicial Officer
- Chris Galea (SRU) – Citing Commissioner
The same venue was used for the Asia Rugby U18 Boys’ and Girls’ 7s competition in 2022, and that tournament will take place less than one month after the tournament in Nepal – hosted in Taiwan from 16-17 September 2023.
