All-Japan Rugby Championship 2020
The JRFU (Japan Rugby Football Union) has announced that the All-Japan Rugby Championship 2020 will feature the top four teams from the Japan Top League at the end of the 2020 season.

JRFU announce that the All-Japan Championship will take place on May 23rd and 30th 2020. The competition will feature the top 4 finishers from the Japanese Top League but is separate from the league reports Rugby News Japan.
The first championship was played in 1963 and won by Doshisha University RFC. This will be the 56th All-Japan Championship but the format of the competition has changed several times over the years.

The recent champions of the Japanese rugby competition are:
- 2012–13: Suntory Sungoliath
- 2013–14: Panasonic Wild Knights
- 2014–15: Yamaha Júbilo
- 2015–16: Panasonic Wild Knights
- 2016–17: Suntory Sungoliath
- 2017–18: Suntory Sungoliath
- 2018-2019: Kobelco Steelers
Japan Top League 2020
The Japan domestic rugby season, the Japan Top League is due to finish on May 9th. The season this year is a round-robin format with the team at the top of the league at the end of the regular season, declared the champions. Traditionally there have been playoff games to determine the Top League champions.
A number of high profile rugby stars joined the Japanese league this season on the back of the RWC 2019 in Japan. RugbyPass, the paid-for rugby streaming service, also started showing the Japan Top League games in 2020.
As it stands after six rounds the top four teams are:

- Yamaha Jubilo
- Suntory Sungoliath
