8th annual Pakistan All Universities Rugby Championship

The 8th annual Pakistan All Universities Rugby Championship recently took place at the Lahore University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in Lahore.

With 15 universities competing, the players involved were all on full or partial scholarships based on rugby, which is a phenomenal effort by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Pakistan Rugby Union. With the spotlight on rugby throughout the region since the inclusion of Rugby 7s at the Olympic Games in 2016, the number of National Olympic Committees taking the sport and the development of rugby more seriously have increrased drastically.

Pakistan also arranges the Pakistan National Games which includes rugby.

The Pakistan national XVs team will be playing its Asia Rugby Championship Division 3 Central games in Lahore later in 2019 (scheduled for 7-10 April 2019).
