2024 Charity Rugby Dinner – Taipei Baboons

The Taipei Baboons and ANZCham Taiwan are organising a 2024 Charity Rugby Dinner which will feature 1991 Rugby World Cup-winning Wallaby Captain Nick Farr Jones as the special guest. The dinner will help raise funds for Morne Viljoen (a survivor of the 2002 Bali Bombings) through the Bali Trust Fund.

The 2024 Charity Rugby Dinner will be held at The American Club Taipei on May 17, 2024, as attendees will be treated to personal insights into the former rugby international’s mind and as he will tell behind-the-scenes stories.

The organisers said “It is always a fun evening with many interesting insights and lots of laughs. And we are happy to say that MC extraordinaire Terry Hart will be back to host the event with his own brand of wit and humour.”

In 2019, the event had former Springbok RWC 2007-winning coach Jake White as the special guest.

The event is Smart Casual but rugby jerseys and rugby club blazers are encouraged! This is an over-18 event only.

Charity Rugby Dinner Beneficiary

“The 2024 Charity Rugby Dinner is dedicated to raising funds for Morne Viljoen through the Bali Trust Fund. Morne, a Taipei Baboon and survivor of the 2002 bombings, sustained severe injuries with burns covering 40% of his body,” said the organisers.

“The dinner aims to provide essential assistance to Morne, ensuring he receives the necessary medical treatment and mental counselling to continue his journey towards recovery and healing.”

The Bali Trust Fund is administered by The Rotary Club of Taiwan.
