2019/20 Gulf Rugby League Results
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 rugby disruptions, the 2019/20 Gulf Rugby League results have been determined by U.A.E Rugby.
In a statement online, the Gulf Rugby Management (GRM) said “Following the recent announcement by the UAERF regarding the 2019-2020 rugby season, GRM in consultation with UAE Rugby Federation will be implementing the process, to conclude the 2019-2020 season.”
2019/20 Gulf Rugby League Winners
West Asia Championship
- All remaining league games are to recorded as a 0-0 draw. (criteria as used in the Rugby World Cup cancellations due to the Typhoon).
- No West Asia final.
- Bahrain are declared the 2019-20 season Champions. (They also won the title the previous season)
UAE Premiership
- All remaining league games are to be recorded as a 0-0 draw.
- No UAE Premiership final.
- Dubai Exiles are declared 2019-20 season Champions.
UAE Division 1
- All remaining league games are to be recorded as a 0-0 draw.
- No UAE Division 1 Semi-final or final.
- Abu Dhabi Saracens are declared 2019-20 season Champions.
UAE Division 2
- All remaining league games are to be recorded as a 0-0 draw.
- No UAE Division 2 final.
- Barrelhouse are declared 2019-20 season Champions
UAE Women’s Series
- No results recorded for the final round.
- Dubai Hurricanes are to be declared champions, based on the league standings after 7 completed rounds.
Mini & Youth
- No winners can be confirmed so the 2019/20 mini & Youth rugby season is declared void.
2020/21 Gulf Rugby season
The Gulf Rugby Management (Emirates Group) has also notified the UAERF that they will no longer be continuing with the management of Gulf Rugby for next season. So there is a lot of uncertainty about the 2020/2021 Gulf rugby union leagues.
The current Asia Rugby President, Qais Al Dhalai, is from the UAERF and is based in Dubai.
